Usually the last Sunday of the month (but there are exceptions - notably Chillagoe)
Each month we have a different venue.
Family days are open to everyone. Non Members are most welcome.
There is no cover charge (however we will try to sell you a ticket in our monthly raffle)
Food and drink are on sale by the venue.
Entertainment is by members (and non members) with the backing of the Clubs band 'Rusty Strings'. Non membersmay perform after members have had a turn (if there is time.)
If you wish to sing (perform) you need to supply 3 copies of chord charts to the band. You also need to register on the day with the music co-ordinator (you will find them by looking for the decorated guitar on one of the tables).
The venues pay to have us hold our family days - it is important that we support them by buying all our food and drink from them.
Raffles
We hold a small raffle each month at our family days.
The prize is always $100 voucher at one of local stores.
A major raffle is held in conjunction with the Atherton Show.
Members are asked to sell these outside of our gatherings if at all possible.
Closed Family Days
We currently have 2 closed family days per year.
One is in the form of a picnic - usually held in the park at Tinaroo.
The club supplies all the food for a BBQ (but does ask members to bring plate to supplement to salads, nibbles and sweets)
Non Members are welcome if accompanying a Member - they will have to pay $10 per person to attend.
The second is our Christmas Party Sleep Over.
The Christmas Party starts on the Saturday Afternoon and goes well into the night.
The club supplies all the food for a BBQ (but does ask members to bring plate to supplement to salads, nibbles and sweets)
You need to bring your own drinks.
There is plenty of room to pitch a tent, bring a van or swag and sleep over.
Breaksfast BBQ is supplied by the club.
Non Members are able to accompany Members but will be charged $10 per person for the Saturday night or $15 for the weekend.
